The Discovery Journey
10 Days & 9 Nights
Accommodations
12 Meals
Excursions & Entertainment
Ten days in Barcelona to meet the clinic and doctors who might guide your treatment, feel the city you'd be returning to, and connect with others walking the same path — before you commit to anything. You don't just research, you experience what's possible.

travelers per cohort
Elissa Hansen
facilitates every cohort, start to finish
Barcelona IVF
our standing clinic partner for every visit
One thing this trip isn't: a tour of Spain. Barcelona has enough to fill ten days on its own, so we stay grounded in the city — the one exception is a single day trip to Montserrat and the Penedès wine country, and we're back for dinner.
Upcoming cohorts
We run two cohorts a year, in the shoulder seasons when Barcelona is at its best. Exact dates are announced to the waitlist first, about six months ahead, and spots are confirmed with a refundable deposit.

Who this trip is for
A good fit if
- You are seriously considering IVF or donor-egg IVF and want to see the clinic and meet the physicians before deciding
- You would rather make this decision with a small group of people on the same path than alone at a laptop
- You want real rest built into the week, not a sightseeing sprint
- You are comfortable traveling internationally and can take ten days away
Probably not the right fit if
- You have already chosen a clinic and are ready to start a cycle (our concierge packages fit you better)
- You want a tour of Spain; this trip stays in Barcelona by design
- You need to be in active treatment during the trip; this is a discovery visit, not a treatment cycle
Not sure? Book a free call and we will tell you honestly.
The Ten-Day Itinerary
Clinic mornings, culture and wellness afternoons — with real rest built in, not left over.
Day 01 — Arrival
Landing, not launching
Private transfers to the hotel as everyone lands through the day. No agenda — settle in, walk the block, sleep off the flight.
Welcome dinner in the Gothic Quarter. Opening circle, led by Elissa: everyone shares what brought them here and what they hope to leave with.
Day 02 — Orientation
First look, low stakes

Gentle group breathwork, then a slow walking tour of the Barri Gòtic — easing in, not sightseeing hard on jet lag.
First visit to Barcelona IVF: a facility tour and a meet-the-team session. No exams, no forms — just seeing the place and the people.
Free evening. A short list of nearby tapas spots, no group obligation.
Day 03 — The Deep Dive
The hardest, most useful day
Yoga or a beach movement session to ground the group before the heavier conversations ahead.
One-on-one physician consultations at Barcelona IVF, staggered through the group. While waiting, others rotate through short sessions on fertility-supportive nutrition and Spanish donor law.
Open afternoon. Optional acupuncture or massage booked individually — nothing competing for attention after a heavy morning.
Day 04 — Integration
Zero obligations, by design
Optional restorative yoga or a guided journaling session on what surfaced yesterday — skippable, the point of today is choice.
Fully open. Park Güell, a long lunch, a nap — no clinic, no scheduled group activity.
Day 05 — Montserrat & Wine Country
The one day we leave the city

Montserrat: the mountain monastery, the boys' choir if timing allows, and a walk into the peaks by funicular.
On to the Penedès wine country nearby — a family vineyard for a cava or wine tasting and a long lunch among the vines.
Back in Barcelona by dinner. Free evening — this is the only day we leave the city, and we're home before dark.
Day 06 — Rest & Restore
A second full exhale
Sleep in. No wake-up call, no plan.
Optional evening at a Barcelona thermal bath house — a quiet, indulgent reset before the busier days ahead.
Day 07 — Market, Boutiques & the Beach
The fun day

A guided shopping tour through El Born and Passeig de Gràcia — Catalan design, local jewelers, the boutiques worth knowing about.
La Boqueria Market: a walk through the stalls with tastings along the way.
Lunch on your own at a beachfront spot in Barceloneta, feet in the sand.
Free beach time.
Day 08 — Bringing It Together
The group's questions, answered together

A short mindfulness session, then a group panel with a Barcelona IVF embryologist and a fertility-specialized counselor — the questions everyone has been sitting with all week.
Guided visits to Sagrada Família and Palau de la Música — the two sights everyone should see before they leave.
Day 09 — Closing
Light day, heavy evening
A light, free day — one last swim, one last walk, final treatments if wanted.
Closing dinner and circle, led by Elissa: what changed this week, what each person is taking home.
Day 10 — Departure
Leaving with something on paper
Group breakfast. Each traveler receives a written packet: which doctor and path fit their case, a realistic timeline, and honest next steps.
Staggered transfers to the airport.
What's Included
One all-in price. No line items to negotiate.
Accommodations
9 nights in a boutique or upper four-star hotel in central Barcelona, double or single occupancy, walkable to the Gothic Quarter.
Fertility Care Access
A facility tour, staggered one-on-one physician consultations, and a group panel with an embryologist and counselor — all at Barcelona IVF, our standing partner clinic.
12 Meals
6 dinners including the welcome and closing dinner, the Penedès vineyard lunch, and 5 breakfasts. Some meals are up to you.

Guided time at Park Güell, the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Família, and Palau de la Música, plus a full-day Montserrat and Penedès wine country trip, a shopping and market day, and a Barcelona thermal bath evening.
