What a Fertility Concierge Does (and Does Not Do)
A clear explanation of the fertility concierge role: what NadóWay handles for families pursuing IVF in Spain, where the clinic's job begins, and how to tell a good concierge from a referral broker.
By Elissa Hansen, Founder of NadóWay

"Fertility concierge" is a newer phrase and people picture very different things: a travel agent, a patient advocate, a medical tourism broker, a coach. Since we use the phrase to describe ourselves, it seems fair to define it precisely, including the boundaries.
What we do
NadóWay follows six stages with every client, and the concierge role lives inside them:
- Understand: a real conversation about your history, goals, timing, and constraints before anyone recommends anything.
- Plan: a written plan naming the clinic that fits, a realistic timeline, the trips involved, and honest cost expectations.
- Begin: appointments scheduled, records transferred, travel booked, documentation prepared, and clinic communication set up before it becomes overwhelming.
- Support: help interpreting what the clinic tells you, solving problems in real time, and steady check-ins during the weeks that matter.
- Adapt: when a cycle is cancelled, a flight changes, or results surprise you, we rework the plan quickly and calmly.
- Stay With You: across cycles and next steps, not just until the first milestone.
What we do not do
We do not provide medical care. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or make medical recommendations, and we never sit between you and your physician on a clinical decision. All treatment is delivered by independent, licensed clinics in Spain that you contract with and pay directly.
We are not a law firm, an insurer, or a travel agency. We help you find the right professionals for those questions and coordinate with them, but the advice comes from people licensed to give it.
And we do not steer. Our fee is paid by you and does not change with your clinic or treatment choice. If a partner clinic pays us a coordination fee for preparing and introducing patients, we tell you in writing.
How to tell a concierge from a broker
A few questions worth asking anyone offering to help you pursue treatment abroad:
- Who pays you, and does your compensation change with my choice of clinic?
- Do I contract with and pay the clinic directly?
- Will you tell me if you think I should not do this?
- Have you been a patient at the clinics you recommend, or visited them in person?
- What happens if my first cycle does not work?
Why we think the role matters
Families who research IVF abroad on their own usually get there in the end, but it costs months and a great deal of emotional energy, and they often choose a clinic on the strength of its website. A good concierge compresses that time, protects the energy, and gets you in front of the right team prepared. Our founder did this journey without one, which is exactly why NadóWay exists.
